DeviceNet/ControlNet

Description
This course is intended for maintenance personnel and programmers that need to install and / or maintain ControlNet / DeviceNet networks. Participants will learn to work with ControlNet, DeviceNet and to some extend Ethernet IP. During the course, special attention will be given to maintenance/engineering functions such as; extending networks, configuring devices and maintaining and troubleshooting.

At the conclusion of this course, the student should be able to:

CONTROLNET:

  • Understand ControlNet protocol
  • Be able to install ControlNet hardware
  • Be able to configure a ControlNet network with RSNetworx for ControlNet
  • Be able to configure data-exchange

DEVICENET:

  • Be able to install DeviceNet hardware
  • Be able to configure a DeviceNet network with RSNetworx for DeviceNet

Course Material
Each participant will receive their own class binder with all reference material and exercises, so that these can be repeated later.

Hands-On Exercises
Each participant will have the opportunity to work on a training simulator and perform troubleshooting tasks.

Prerequisites
Working knowledge of electromechanical control devices, relay ladder logic and Windows Operating System.
